TINA GIANGRANTE AND JOANNE JONES, M.ED.
Joanne's experience as a teacher demonstrated the value in project-based learning. From working on various projects of interest to the students, she witnessed first-hand, children become excited about learning and pride in their ability to articulate it. Joanne began her journey at Temple University where she received her BA Degree in Communications. Eventually, after witnessing the disparities in education of the young child, she decided to obtain a graduate degree from Eastern University, receiving her Master’s Degree in Multi-cultural Education with a concentration on Elementary Education. Joanne believes that conversation is a critical component to reaching children in the most unbiased and inclusive manner. To her words matter. As a professional working directly with children, Joanne has more than 30 years working with children of all ages. Additionally, Tina enrolled at LaSalle and earned her degree in K-12 teacher of the handicapped. She then studied principalship at Widener University and taught special education in New Jersey for several years. After moving back to her hometown of Philadelphia, Tina again furthered her education by becoming certified in the highly-regarded Wilson Reading System (WRS) and establishing the first WRS program at her school. The principles of WRS--a research-based, multisensory learning approach that takes into account multiple forms of intelligence and considers the whole child--remain with her to this day. Over the course of her 31-year career, Tina has successfully instructed dozens of Philadelphia students, who may otherwise never have been able to read.

At Beanstalk School in Queen Village, teachers guide children’s learning through careful observation, thoughtful planning and hands-on exploration. They build on each child’s strengths, interests and developmental needs, introducing new skills over time.

​Our team integrates STEAM, creative arts, music, cooking and mindful movement into everyday lessons. Classroom observations, lesson-plan reviews and reflection help teachers individualize instruction and support consistent use of the curriculum.
